BOARD OF DEACONS

The Board of Deacons, in accordance with the guidelines of the Book of Order, is charged to minister and to those in need, to the sick, to the friendless, and to anyone in distress. Hour of Consuming fire miracle ministry currently has twenty Deacons. Each deacon serves on at least one Session committee in addition to assisting with the various Deacon subcommittees.

• Organizing and providing refreshments for fellowship time every Sunday morning during Sunday school and prior to the worship service.

• Serving the Sacrament of Holy Communion with Elders. Communion is also prepared and cleaned up by Deacons following each service. Communion is served on the first Sunday of every month at all services.

• Family Visits and Support once a month, the members of the congregation and their families who are in need of companionship due to infirmity, age, etc. as part of our “Thinking of You” or Care Partners programs.

Delivering food stuffs and other items which are donated for the Sunday services to the poor and people in need or hospital visit to other people recuperating from an illness. Especially mothers and children

• Coordinating inter family Prayer union project.

Organizing the ushering teams and sending reminders to all team members at the beginning of each month of special prayers and activities of the church

• Organizing and providing funeral service upon request.

• Organizing and serving a special nutritious meal on Easter and in Christmas festivities for children and marginalized people in the neighborhood.
